No Pain No...Smell?
People who feel no pain due to a particular rare genetic defect also can’t smell anything, a new study I found says. The unexpected discovery shows that nerves that detect pain and odors rely on the same protein to transmit information to the brain. That's a cool thing to know.
Researchers examined three people who have mutations in the SCN9A gene and can’t feel pain. All of the people had broken multiple bones without feeling any pain, and two had given birth painlessly. But none of them were aware that they also couldn’t smell a thing. None of the study participants could distinguish balsamic vinegar, orange, mint, coffee or perfume from plain water, even when researchers poured on so much perfume and vinegar that the scents were unbearable to people with a normal sense of smell. Wouldn't you think you would be aware that somthing is wrong if everytime someones says, "Hey, do you smell that?" and you never have? I figure if you have never smelled anything then you would not even know what you were missing.
Because the sodium channel is missing in people with SCN9A mutations, the messages sent by pain- and odor-sensing nerves never actually make it to the brain.
Some pharmaceutical companies are already working on painkilling drugs that would block the sodium channel’s activity. But the study suggests that such drugs could have the side effect of eliminating smell. Because odor is an important component in creating the flavor of a food, people’s ability to taste would also be compromised.

John,What will save your son is your love and respect and communication and the examples you show him with *your* behavior. Do you truly want to demonstrate that his father is one secretly spying on him? The message--spoken or not--you are sending to your son is this: his own father does not trust him, his own father cannot sit down and tell his son his own feelings and fears, but instead spies secretly upon him. Learn to talk from your heart to his or you will have make much grief.

You cannot describe love as "a problem teenagers fall into". This completely downrates the meaning of love itself, not to meantion any teens (like myself) reading this. You act as if only adults will read this, and give absolutely no helpful imformation directly towards a teen or teenagers themself.I recommend adding a section to this that describes what love REALLY is, and how to deal with it, how it passes, how it stablizes, it's structure over time and how it grows, and many types of love.
