How to Build an Interesting Online Dating Profile

One of the most important things you need to do when you create your dating website profile is to be honest with your details. You need to upload your most recent photos and do not pretend to be someone else.

There are specific things that you need to follow when building a better online dating site profile.

Keep a positive profile. Tell your likes but do not mention dislikes as it creates negativity. Some of the things that you dislike may be pleasant to potential dates. Never mention any bad experiences or people that you hate. Also, negativity gives a bad image to your profile as it is a turnoff for some people.  When you are positive, you attract people as if you are a magnet.

For instance, instead of saying in your profile:

You could say:

A profile that shows the lines “I am a simple but fun person. I love going to the beach, camping, hiking and hanging out with friends. I am looking for someone who shares the same interests with me”, is a typical profile. Tendency is you have similar type of profile with thousands of other members. Be different. Your profile speaks for yourself. A unique profile would look like this “I know you are out there. I am a thunder looking for lightning. You could brighten me up I know.” Those lines are unique for an online dating profile, don’t you think? Also, you can use words or phrases that have more depth instead of using the common adjectives when describing yourself. For example, replace the word “hot”, with “sizzling”. When using deeper words, you become more sincere but fun.

Be descriptive of the man/woman you are looking to date.

When creating a profile, you need to consider the type of person you are attracted to or you want your profile to attract the most. This will help narrow your focus on what you really want which is to meet and date with a guy you also are attracted to. When I say descriptive, it should be specific and detailed. Instead of saying “I am looking for a funny person”, you could say “I am looking for a man with a light heart between the ages of 26 and 30 who is very positive in life. We may be the perfect match if you dress neatly, clean-shaven, can hold a conversation for hours and can make me laugh most of the time. Shoot me an email.”

The above example shows descriptions that filtered what person you are truly looking for by his age (26 to 30), appearance (clean-shaven), communication (can hold conversation for hours) and outlook in life (someone who can make you laugh most of the time has a positive outlook in life). You also helped people looking at your profile know your criteria and what to do next (Shoot you an email) should they meet such criteria. Such profile message alone can generate you a bunch of inbox messages and you do not need to message people just to look at your profile.

Another tip is to update your profile message and even your photos from time to time to make it fresher.
