FOREVER IN LOVE

Marriage is a holy union between a man and a woman coming together as husband and wife to become one flesh. The marriage institution is the oldest institution in the world uniting men and women with different perception in life; different belief system, different political affiliation, cultural background, etc. And so, when the two “love birds” come together as one they tend to accept and tolerate these differences in order to stay in love. Right from time marriage has remained a mystery that no one can unravel. It is an institution that anyone that ventures into it never comes out with a certificate of graduation.

Marriage is a life to be cultivated and labored over with and it is worthwhile to live for. Hence, it behooves the man to live together with his wife until death. Before getting married it is necessary to consider some of the following questions and answer them accordingly.

1. Can I Love This Person Forever?

If you cannot love your spouse forever, then be sure you are heading for the rocks in the nearest future. Yes, there is bound to be misunderstanding and disagreement in certain areas between the two but the key to staying married amidst these misunderstandings is to continue to stay in love.

1. Is It Possible To Tolerate My Spouse?

Each time your spouse nags or gets into fits of rage, the one and best thing to do is to extend a hand of love and tolerate him. There can never be two captains on the same ship. One will have to be the pilot while the other remains in the crew. So, it is with marriage.

Develop a large heart to entertain every hurt that comes your way. In so doing you will have the capacity to resist any form of intolerance.

1. AM I Willing To Tolerate My Spouse?

The lost of one’s job or the sudden dwindling in finances sure does pose a threat and major challenge to the relationship. It is therefore left for the couple to decide whether to just hang in there and accept the painful reality of life or quit the union.

1. AM I Ready For Marriage?

Being ready emotionally, financially or morally is a key to staying married. You may say,” Since I do not want my emotion played around with I’d rather stay single”. Or “knowing that marriage is not an end to fornication or a means of fleeing from youthful lust can I therefore face squarely these challenges,” are some questions you must tackle.

1. Will I Be Able To Change Him?

No human being on earth is able to change the other. And so attempting to change someone to be what you want them to be can be likened to attempting to walk through the eye of a needle. Instead of trying to change someone, rather try to positively influence that person.

Now, if you can honestly ask yourself all these questions and answer them with an open mind and an honest heart then I say a big C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-I-O-N-S to you. You are on your way to making a life’s decision only mature people make.
