Living buildings collects removes and changes the parts of the building with the continuation of time. Some of them are important to the building such as structural ability. Some of them are damaging the values of the monument. Thus the process of the changes should give attention to protect the values of it. The deep study of the similar type of buildings is very important in finding the later additions of the building.

This monument is basically belongs to the “tampita” building type. These types of building are keeping on the pillars. The pillars may be stones or timber in Sri Lanka. This method is using to prevent the building from the environmental effects such as dampness and water that comes from the earth and the earth insects basically earth warms. The floor of the building constructing by the timber plates and it places at the timber beams. The structural load of the building spared to the pillars by the timber beams of the floor structure. 

With the study of the other similar buildings these types of buildings haven’t walls at the ground floor in its original structure. There is no wall structure covering the pillars. These walls basically damage the concept of the building type by the giving space to come the dampness to the building and the insects. Thus the walls around the stones at the ground floor may be new addition in this building. There are many other reasons to mention the later additions to the image house. Some of them are material type, function and so on. The walls of the building are constructed by clay. The walls of the ground floor are constructed by the brick.
