The most popular parks in the Western U.S.

There are many very popular national parks in the U.S.  They are not only visited by millions of Americans every year but people come from all over the world to visit these parks.  “They are all natural wonders in their own right.”

Yosemite National Park is one of the most popular attractions in California.  People come from all over the world to admire the beautiful scenery, waterfalls and wildlife.  When you visit Yosemite you can check out the popular Yosemite Falls.  This waterfall drops 2,600 feet and the site is gorgeous.  The best time to visit Yosemite Falls is in April, May and June when there is the most water from the melting snow.

One of Yosemite’s most famous landmarks is Half Dome.  You can enjoy Half Dome from the bottom or you can hike to the top.  Another great attraction is El Capitan.   The Giant Sequoias are also beautiful.  Yosemite is beautiful year around.  Yosemite National Park is the busiest in the summer.  Some people say Yosemite rivals Yellowstone for beauty.

Yellowstone is a very popular national park.  It is the worlds First National Park.  Millions of people visit Yellowstone every year.  Yellowstone is very popular for family vacations.  Yellowstone is located in Montana, Idaho and Wyoming.

When you drive the grand loop road you can see the park from your car.  You can stop at one of the many picnic areas for a picnic.  There are thousands of miles of trails suitable for hiking.

There are bison, moose, elk and pronghorn sheep to see.  There are 2 types of bears.  There are over 60 other types of mammals.  You will find over 300 species of birds in Yellowstone.  There are an abundance of fish and different plants.  There are over 300 geysers and over 290 waterfalls.  You can also watch Old Faithful go off.  Yellowstone is a nature paradise.

The spring, summer and fall might be the best time to visit Yellowstone.  The winter has a lot of snow and bad weather in certain areas.

The Grand Canyon National Park is one of the most visited parks in the U.S.  The Grand Canyon is in Arizona so the weather is fairly good year round.  Millions of people visit it every year.  The red valleys and cliffs are beautiful.

You can go hiking on your own or take a guided hike.  There are campgrounds available.  You can take the Hermits Rest tour which is great.  It is a 2 hour motor coach tour.  You can take a Mule riding excursion.  Mule trips operate year around.  There is much more to do at the Grand Canyon.  It is a fabulous vacation destination.
