In this wedding tips for brides article, we offer tips and suggestions to make your wedding day run smoothly. Every bride hopes their wedding day goes as planned. However, a wedding has so many elements and people involved that things can go wrong. Below we offer our best tips:

Wedding Tips for Brides #1 - Get to the Church on Time
It is undeniable law of science that everything takes longer on a wedding day. O.K., that might not be one of Newton's laws but it is a fact. If you are 30-60 minutes late to your church or venue, your whole day may be off schedule. The pictures start late so you'll have to finish them up after the ceremony which will make you late to the reception. The caterer will try to hold dinner but you may have to pay your DJ, videographer and photographer to stay longer. Be on time! Talk with your planner, photographer, hairdresser etc. to see how much time you need to get ready - then add in another 30-60 minutes. You can either be late, stressed out that you are going to be late or relaxed and enjoying your day!

Wedding Tips for Brides #2 - Hire a Fairy Godmother
If your budget allows, I would strongly recommend hiring a wedding planner, a.k.a., your fairy godmother. This is the person that flits around on the wedding day taking care of all the last minute details. They make sure you have a plate of food ready and waiting with your favorite Chardonnay. If there are any snags with the venue or vendors, they take care of it so you don't have to. Your planner is your lady in waiting, your go to girl. You have spent a lot of money for your wedding and a planner will make sure you are able to enjoy every minute of it!

Wedding Tips for Brides #3 - Coach Your Team
To help keep your family and wedding party on track, make sure they know where to go. Make up a wedding day schedule and email it to all of these people. At the rehearsal dinner, hand out a printed form of the schedule. For each person, highlight the times and places they need to be.

Wedding Tips for Brides #4 - Touch Base
In the two weeks before the wedding, make sure to touch base and confirm with all you vendors. With some wedding, vendors can be hired a year in advance. Make sure to talk to them shortly before the wedding and confirm what time they will be arriving. Special note: If you hire a wedding planner, this is one of the tasks that they will take care of for you.

Make sure you have at least one person who knows how to bustle your dress. Ideally, have them practice a couple of times before the wedding - especially if you have a French bustle as those tend to be more complicated.

To minimize surprises on your wedding day, keep in mind the wedding tips for brides listed above. A lot of time and money has been invested into this one day. The more planning and preparation you put into your wedding before hand, the more you will be able to enjoy the actual day.
