The new trend in wedding themes is small and tasteful. Forget about the Casino, Beach or Renaissance wedding. Wedding themes do not have to be over the top! They can simply be a thought or saying that is woven into the wedding - a wonderful way to incorporate little finishing details. Attention to detail is what turns an average wedding into an extraordinary wedding - one that people will talk about for years. It's these little details that your guests will notice and say "Now isn't that clever!". Once you decide on a theme, look for the design you want to incorporate. You can do this by finding a wedding favor or clip art graphic that you love. Incorporate your theme in the decorations, on the invitations, programs and favors. Also look for products that can be used for two purposes - a place card holder and a wedding favor. Your dollar will go much further when your wedding items multi-task! Below are some of my favorite wedding theme ideas for 2011.

"Fall for Love" - Use leaf designs on your invitations, programs and thank yous to carry the theme throughout. For an outdoor wedding, line the sides of the aisle with leaves. At the alter, create a large heart, lined with leaves for the couple to stand in. A wonderful favor for this theme is Leaf Plantable Seed Place Cards. They are a place card and a favor! Each card is printed with a leaf motif and has a brown seed leaf attached. Later, the guests can remove the leaf and plant. The best part is that this favor is environmentally friendly! I LOVE wedding products that multi-task!

"Meant to Bee" - A wonderful theme that can incorporate honey, bees wax candles or delicate bees into the design of the invitations, programs and thank yous.

"Key to My Heart" - Incorporating hearts into a wedding theme is a no brainer! But take it one step further and personalize those hearts to your wedding. For example, for an outdoor or forest wedding, incorporate heart topiaries. These can be placed on the guest book table, line the aisle, and again on all the printed material. You can find heart topiary place card holders that will double as favors. The guests can later use them as a photo or note holder.

"The Perfect Pair" - Another one of my favorites and perfect for an outdoor wedding! Pears can be used as a cake topper, on the guest book table or hung in the wedding arch or arbor.

"Apple of My Eye" -  A wonderful theme in which you can incorporate apples of all colors into your decorations. For an outdoor ceremony, consider lining each side of the aisle with apples. Apples can be used in the floral arrangements and table centerpieces.

"The Perfect Blend" - Are you and your fiance coffee lovers? Than this may be the theme for you! Coffee beans can be used to decorate the tables, as favors or in the printed materials. The bridal cake can be decorated with bands of espresso colored ribbon.

Be creative! Choosing a wedding theme idea can really help to tie all your ideas together. Remember to incorporate your theme in clever little touches. Take the time to attend to the details and your wedding will be remembered for years!
